Research

Research based services in the field of infrastructure, environment, health and management are the core strength and expertise of RIMC Pvt. Ltd. We have decade long experiences of carrying out studies in preliminary and post completion of projects with various government agencies like Alternative Energy Promotion Center, Nepal Electricity Authority, Easter Hydropower Pvt. Ltd and various municipalities and former district development committees

RIMC provides research based services with solid approach based methodologies and scientific processes. Our long years of experiences and rich human resources with technical expertise helps us stand out of the crowd. Till date we have carried out various research based projects with clients like Climate and Carbon Unit of Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) where we collected carried out data collection and analysis for Formulation of Low Carbon Economic Development Strategy for Nepal from January-October 2013. Likewise, we also carried out Baseline Study for Rural Renewable Energy Related National Development Indicators and Other Indicators Related to National Rural and Renewable Energy Programme (NRREP) outputs from May-September 2013. In the field of Environment, we have successful examples of carrying out Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) of Sustainable Extraction/Collection of Boulder, Gravel and Sand from the Rivers of Sankhuwasabha and Jhapa district. We have also worked with Eastern Hydropower Pvt. Ltd for carrying out Feasibility Study and Detailed Engineering Survey including Design, Cost Estimate, Report Preparation and Construction Supervision of Access Road (8.20 Km) of Pikhuwa Khola Small Hydropower Project (2.5 MW) Paluwa VDC, Bhojpur District in 2011-2012 . Similar project of conducting Detailed Engineering Survey, feasibility study, design and cost estimation was done for Sisne Khola hydropower project (750 KW) in Dobhan VDC, Palpa district for Gautam Buddha Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. Besides construction and infrastructure, we have provided consultancy services to Gender and Social Inclusion Unit of AEPC/NRREP through Identification of Gender and Social Inclusion Gaps at Policy and Institutional Level; as well as provided services to Climate and Carbon Unit of AEPC/NRREP by carrying out Impact Assessment of Piloted District Climate and Energy Plans. RIMC has placed itself in leading position through long years of expertise and consistent performances in the field of research, which has contributed to make client’s visions successful.

Planning and Design

Planning and Designing is another strong expertise of RIMC Pvt. Ltd. We have worked in Rural/Urban Planning, Industrial Planning, and business development planning with various clients such as SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company, National Agricultural Research and Development Fund (NARDF) of Ministry of Agriculture and Development and various municipalities of Nepal Government.

We excel in providing planning and designing services as it is one of our core strengths. Rural or Urban planning including designing of Master Plan, Land Pooling, Guided Land Development and Industrial Planning and Engineering is some of our services we are best known for. In 2016- 2017, we worked with SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company for development of Disaster Management Plan, Nepal Industrial Benefit Plan and Nepal Employment and Skill Training Plan. Likewise, we developed designed the model for Climate field School Model to Enable Framers for Climate Resilient Agricultural Practices in Jhapa district under the project of National Agricultural Research and Development Fund (NARDF) of Ministry of Agriculture and Development in 2015-2017. We have also wide range of experience of designing periodic plans and municipal transport master plans to various former district development committees as well as designing strategic plans of 5 years of Nepal Disabled Association Khagendra New Life Center. In recent years, we have also prepared the metric system for Gokarneshwor and Bhadrapur Municipality.

Skill Development

RIMC is one of the leading consultants providing skill development trainings in different rural areas of Nepal in partnership with various government and non-government agencies in their visionary programs. We have been providing wide ranges of skill development in the areas of infrastructure, construction, income generation and employment development skills with numbers of clients like Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, Oxfam-Nepal, Helvetas, and Swiss Development Commission.

Skill development of rural population for their socio-economic growth relates to our vision of building prosperous Nepal. In this regard, we have developed our team of expertise and partnerships to aid to this strength. From the time of inception of the firm, we have inclined our priorities towards supporting in skill development. We have contributed skill development training services majorly in infrastructure development programs of Nepal government like South Asia Sub-regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Power System in Expansion Project being implemented by Nepal Electricity Authority through financial support of Asian Development Bank and loan from European Investment Bank. The project is ongoing from December 2017- June 2024. Likewise, we provided skill development trainings as a part of safeguarding and monitoring consultant in Bhulbhule Middle-Marsyangdi 132 kv Transmission Line Affected Area from 2017-2018. Post-earthquake 2015, we have also provided short term on the job trainings on Mason and Construction of earthquake resilient buildings at at Bhojpur, Khotang and Solukhmbhu districts for the project of National Reconstruction Authority Central Level Project Implementation Unit. (CLPIU) under Ministry of Urban Development, in Dang, Salyan and Rukum districts for Emergency Peace Support Project (EPSP) of Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, and in Nuwakot District in support of Oxfam-Nepal, and in Rasuwa District with SAHAS-Group of Helping Hands. Besides, we also conducted Short Training Courses with On the Job Training on Professional Cook for 80 trainees as a part of the project Enhanced Skill for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE) carried out by Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training in support of HELVETAS and Swiss Development Commission. Further we have forged strong partnership with Ministry of Education by providing wide range of vocational trainings, result based short term trainings for their project by providing skill program of Enhanced Vocational Education and Training (EVENT) Project where since 2013.

Monitoring and Supervision

RIMC Pvt. Ltd has developed itself as a capable and strong firm in providing monitoring and supervision services over the past years. Some of our major ongoing projects include safeguard implementation and monitoring works of many ambitious programs of Nepal government in power transmission field and other infrastructure development.

Next among the list of services we provide is monitoring and safeguard implementation works in the field of hydropower, transmission lines construction and other infrastructure development. We are implementing safeguard and monitoring works for South Asia Sub-regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Power System Expansion Project, implemented by Environmental and Social Studies Department, Engineering Service Directorate of Nepal Electricity Authority which has started from December 2017 continuing upto June 2024. As a part of the same project, we carried out Environment Safeguard field monitoring for Marsyandi-Kathmandu 220 kv Transmission Line Project (MKTLP) from April- October 2017 and carried Social Safeguard field monitoring for Dana-Kushma 220 kV Transmission Line Project (DKTLP) from June-November 2017. Likewise, we have also worked with National Rural Renewable Energy Program (NRREP) of Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) for Thirty- Party monitoring /Verification of Installed Renewable Energy Systems in 34 districts from February to July 2017.
